Inner Mongolia Tongliao Han Mountain Ecological Pavilion and Visitor Center (First Prize for National Excellent Survey and Design, Gold Award for National Habitat Classic Architecture)

Located in the north China, the School of Architecture of IMUT, rooted in the Chinese Northern Borderland Culture for over six decades, aim to inherit grassland culture and make it global.We are committed to integrating regional characters into contemporary architectural practice and cultivating architectural professionals with both innovative spirit and compassionate care. On this vast land, our faculty and students pursue harmony between architecture and nature with a pragmatic way, proactively addressing ecological challenges and meeting social needs. We focus on cross-cultural exchanges through in-depth cooperation with universities at home and abroad, and sincerely invite colleagues worldwide to join hands—using design as our brush—to collectively depict a new vision of inclusive, resilient, and poetic grassland human settlements.

Zhang Pengju

Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering National Engineering Survey and Design Master Director of the Academic Committee of IMUT, and Professor of the School of Architecture of IMUT.

Currently, he is the Director of the Western New Regional Architecture Professional Committee of the Architectural Society of China, Chairman of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Survey and Currently, he is the Director of the Western New Regional Architecture Professional Committee of the Architectural Society of China, Chairman of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Survey and Design Association, a recipient of the National May 1st Labor Medal, and a leading talent of Inner Mongolia's "Grassland Talents" program. He has presided over 200 architectural design projects and has been awarded 7 international design awards, including the ARCASIA awards for Architecture Gold Award and the Aga Khan Award for Architecture. He has also received 15 national awards, such as the Design Association, a recipient of the National May 1st Labor Medal, and a leading talent of Inner Mongolia's "Grassland Talents" program. He has presided over 200 architectural design projects and has been awarded 7 international design awards, including the ARCASIA awards for Architecture Gold Award and the Aga Khan Award for Architecture. He has also received 15 national awards, such as the first prize in the National Engineering Survey and Design Industry and the Architectural Creation first prize in the National Engineering Survey and Design Industry and the Architectural Creation Award of the Architectural Society of China, and 29 first prizes in provincial architecture design.
