Professor Zhang Pengju attends the Akahan Architecture Award Ceremony Invited to visit Kyrgyzstan National Technical University Promote international cooperation in grassland human settlement research

From September 13 to 17, Professor Zhang Pengju, Director of the Academic Committee and Director of the International Joint Laboratory for Habitat Science on the Eurasian Prairie Belt at our university, visited Kyrgyzstan to attend the Aga Khan Architecture Award ceremony. During this period, he engaged in academic exchanges at the invitation of Kyrgyz State Technical University. Relevant faculty members from the School of Architecture accompanied him on the visit.

Professor Zhang Pengju delivered an academic report titled "Theoretical System of Grassland Human Settlements Science and Practical Experience in Western China" at the National Technical University of Kyrgyzstan, engaging in in-depth exchanges with experts and scholars in related fields. The delegation held thorough discussions with the National Technical University of Kyrgyzstan on topics such as jointly advancing the construction of the International Joint Laboratory for Grassland Human Settlements Science in Eurasia, and establishing a cooperation framework for scientific research collaboration in Central Asia and countries along the Belt and Road.





Taking the construction of the International Joint Laboratory for Human Settlements Science in the Eurasian Steppe Belt of our university as an opportunity, the team has carried out extensive promotion and exchange based on Professor Zhang Pengju's theoretical system and practical experience of "Practical Construction" for steppe human settlements. This has provided a systematic theoretical framework, diverse practical cases, and valuable references for the scientific research and disciplinary development of steppe human settlements in countries along the Belt and Road.

The International Joint Laboratory for Human Settlements Science in the Eurasian Steppe focuses on the "Five Major Tasks" assigned by General Secretary Xi Jinping to Inner Mongolia, actively responding to the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative. Initiated and hosted by the School of Architecture of our university, it collaborates with universities and research institutions along the Eurasian steppe (Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Mongolia, etc.) to establish a cross-regional, cross-cultural, and interdisciplinary research institution. This visit marks another high-quality academic and scientific exchange activity since the establishment of the International Joint Laboratory for Human Settlements Science in the Eurasian Steppe.
