School of Architecture Participates in Multiple Joint Design Projects to Boost Innovation in Educational Models

In the spring of 2025, the School of Architecture successfully carried out a number of international and domestic joint graduation design activities, providing students with a broad practical platform and promoting the innovation and development of architectural education in our university.


Joint Design Programs at Home and Abroad Shine with Distinctive Features

From February 28 to March 3, Jilin Jianzhu University took the lead in launching the opening ceremony of the "Cold Region 6+1" Joint Graduation Design, which focused on "Reconstruction and Regeneration of Urban Spaces of Historical Landmarks in Changchun City" and explored strategies for the renewal of cold-region architecture. During the same period, six industrial universities of the "T" Alliance held the Joint Graduation Design themed "Planning and Design of Nanjing Health Industry Park" at Nanjing Tech University, so as to promote the practical application of the healthy building industry.

On March 5, University of A Coruña (Spain), Harbin Institute of Technology and Inner Mongolia University of Technology co-hosted an international opening ceremony for graduation design with the theme of "Urban Renewal and Architectural Design of the Residential Area in the University Town of A Coruña, Spain". Teachers and students from the three universities conducted in-depth discussions on the vitality and sustainability of urban spaces.


Focus on Urban Renewal and Ecological Restoration

From February 28 to March 1, the Western A11 Joint Graduation Design was held in Yinchuan City, themed "Renovation and Regeneration Design of the Site of Yinchuan No.2 Wool Textile Mill", which explored strategies for industrial heritage preservation and ecological renewal.From March 1 to 2, the 8th "Architectural College Environmental Art Cup" Inter-University Joint Graduation Design took place at Tianjin University, with the theme of "Humanistic Space Innovation Design for Tianjin Nezha Design Town", so as to promote the empowerment of old factory area transformation through cultural creativity.


Explore Design Methods for Local Construction in Frigid Regions

From February 24 to 26, Southeast University, Inner Mongolia University of Technology and universities in Tibet co-hosted a graduation design project themed "Extreme Environment · Livable Construction—BIM Intelligent Design and Construction of Titanium Alloy Curved Self-sustaining Buildings", which deepened the understanding of architectural design in extreme environments. The joint design project for third-year students of the Department of Architecture from the three universities focused on the theme "Research-oriented Design of Wusutu Village Culture and Art Museum", exploring new design methods for exhibition-type buildings in the village settlement environments of frigid regions.


Promote Regional Coordination and Spatial Governance

From March 7 to 9, the opening defense of the Joint Graduation Design organized by the Northern Planning Education Alliance was held at our university. More than 100 teachers and students from ten universities carried out research and design focusing on hot issues of urban renewal. During the same period, the 5th "Silk Road Scenery" Inter-University Joint Graduation Design took place at Soochow University, which centered on the design of urban spaces along the Grand Canal, promoting the coordinated development of ecological governance, regional cultural inheritance and innovation. On March 1, the "Interior Design 6+" Joint Graduation Design was held at Liaoning University of Technology. Teachers and students from ten universities demonstrated the cutting-edge trends in the field of interior design through independent topic selection and innovative design.

These activities have not only enhanced students' practical capabilities, but also injected new impetus into the innovation of architectural education and disciplinary development. In the future, the School of Architecture will further deepen cooperation and promote more high-quality joint graduation design projects.
